Isle of Skye Candle Company was founded in 2006 by James Robertson, then 19 years old, from the family croft in Gead an t-Sailleir on the Isle of Skye. In search of a healthy alternative to paraffin candles, he developed his own natural wax blend — the beginning of what is now a family business that still handcrafts everything in the Scottish Highlands.

The candles and reed diffusers are made from a blend of soy wax and botanical oils, sourced from ethically grown European soy — consciously chosen to avoid deforestation caused by South American soy cultivation. Since 2015, the entire production runs on 100% green energy, and since 2012, only LED lighting has been used in the workshop.

The scents are inspired by the Scottish nature: from coastal air, heather, and juniper to pine forest, wildflowers, and the spicy Winter Warmer scent.
